Job Overview
M.E.P Design Engineer will perform engineering and design for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) for commercial buildings. The Design Engineer will complete work as part of the design team under the direction of an Engineering Manager. Projects require that design activities are completed in a timely manner. The Design Engineer should understand the technical design and operation of mechanical and controls systems.
Responsibilities:
– Preparing engineering design load and calculations, mechanical (HVAC and
plumbing) system layouts, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, installation detail drawings,
and design documentation for all phases
– Preparing controls sequence of operations for mechanical systems
– Coordinating between teams
– Preparing detailed engineering reports and narratives
– Specification writing
– Cost estimating
– Processing contractor submittals and assisting in the construction administration
process
– Conducting meetings with clients and contractors
– Preparing commissioning documents and performing commissioning activities
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
– Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in mechanical building design (HVAC
and Plumbing)
– Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
– PE preferred, or on track to obtain it
