Job Description 

Responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for assigned areas of responsibility including, but not limited to, daily banking, investments, fixed assets, accounts payable, prepaids, and deferrals.   

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Ability to demonstrate the College values 

Know and understand GASB rules, have excellent analytical and accounting skills with the ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data 

Ability to reconcile complex accounts and prepare reports 

Critical thinking skills – the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of various approaches to problems, implement solutions, and monitor outcome of solutions. Ability to review, revise, and streamline business processes and procedures 

Must have strong working knowledge of computer technology as it relates to accounting. 

Possess excellent collaboration skills 

Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential personnel or College matters 

Ability to adhere to college values, promote and follow Board of Trustee policies 

Education and Experience: 

Required Education:      

Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting or Finance from a regionally accredited college or university 

Preferred Education:     

Master of Business Administration or Master’s in Accountancy from a regionally accredited university 

Required Experience:   

Five years of work experience in a complex accounting setting 

Preferred Experience:    

Experience in a higher education environment 

Experience with Ellucian Banner software package 

Preferred Licenses/Certifications: 

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
