Job Description
- Reviewing the current installation of Solution Manager 7.2 to realize the benefits in the following modules:
Priority Items:
Test Suite:
- Configure Business Process Change Analyzer (BPCA) for Change Impact Analysis
- Configure Scope and Effort Analyzer (SEA) for Change Impact Analysis
Secondary Items:
Test Suite
- Configure additional managed systems for Component Based Test Automation (CBTA) for creation of automated test cases and Technical Bill of Materials (TBOM)
IT Service Management
- Correct the connection between our existing service desk to SAP Solution Manager to help facilitate submitting support messages to SAP through SAP Solution Manager.
- Configure Solution Manager for incident management for SAP systems, including transport order and number(s)
Business Process Operations
- Verify configuration of Business Process Improvement (BPI) Suite of Tools
- Verify configuration of Business Process Analytics to identify improvement potentials of our business processes
- Configure Solution Manager for central Job Scheduling Management to provide visibility of background jobs.
- Assist with setting up a data consistency concept to mitigate risk of data inconsistencies.
Change Control Management
- Configure Enhanced Change & Transport System for software logistics of non-ABAP-based systems
- Develop a common transport management process for ABAP and non-ABAP technologies
- Configure SAP Transport Execution Analysis service to identify transport risks
- Implement Change Request Management (ChaRM)
The ideal candidate(s) would have the following Knowledge, Skills, Ability and Experience:
- Proven functional/technical background, with at least 5 years of experience successfully implementing and configuring SAP Solution Manager 7.2 (currently on SPS12)
- Experience implementing and configuring two or more of the following functionalities using Solution Manager: Test Suite (CBTA, TBOM, BPCA, SEA), Custom Code Management, Change Control Management, IT Service Management and Business Process Operations
- Demonstrated proficiency in infrastructure architecture design, including optimization, administration and security for Solution Manager
- Certification in SAP Solution Manager is preferred
- Experience/ expertise in SAP testing practices and Change Impact Analysis tools (SAP Solman, SAP CBTA, SAP BPCA, SAP TBOM)
- Familiar with testing strategies, technical monitoring, and incident management
- Must have an analytical, results-driven, and solution-oriented approach
- Public sector experience preferred
- Ability to work with limited direction
- Strong teamwork and customer support focus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a Team Player
- Ability to handle numerous conflicting priorities in a professional manner
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Bringing best practice approaches for the customer to consider in a variety of areas including transport, testing, design, prototyping, training, defining support requirements and procedures, etc.
- Experience with writing related customer documentation to be used for future reference
- Ability to cross train and transfer knowledge to OWNER support teams through thorough hands-on training, “how-to” documentation and procedural documentation
- Ability to effectively collaborate and engage with all team members
- Speak and write in English well
- Ability to plan and organize work and responsibilities
- Good facilitation skills
